The Cottage Grove Community Vision
As a Master Planned community, Cottage Grove is conveniently located in Ninette, Manitoba at Pelican Lake on one of the most amazing hidden gems of land in all of Manitoba. Our beautiful 80-acre property offers the perfect balance between country and city living.
Cottage Grove is designed to change the way people live their lives and connect or reconnect with family, friends, and nature. You can walk for groceries, liquor, ice-cream, banking, restaurants, and to the beach, yacht club, and Cottage Grove amenities, including our walking trails and natural playground.
Our vision is to create a neighborhood and community you never want to leave. We want to give every resident the perfect environment for relaxing, socializing, entertaining, and creating memories with their friends and family.
The Cottage Grove Master Plan
The Cottage Grove Master Plan consists of a mix of land uses, including single family residential, multi-family, commercial and recreation. The addition of recreation and rental opportunities are being planned for the summer of 2016.
Our Natural Playscape
“Natural Playscapes” are play environments that blend natural materials, features, and indigenous vegetation with creative landforms. We purposely create complex interplays of natural environmental objects in ways that challenge and fascinate children while teaching them the intricacies and wonders of the natural world.
Studies have shown that the total amount of time children spend watching television, surfing the internet, playing video games, and watching movies have increased almost 35% over 10 years from 5 hours per day in 1999, to 7.5 hours per day in 2009.
Children who play on playgrounds that incorporate elements like logs and flowers tend to be more active than those who play on traditional modern playgrounds with metal and brightly colored equipment.
Our Natural Playground is a centralized park that has something for the whole family, not just kids. The community garden creates a natural gathering area, a conversation starter for people that have never met, and a place for the whole family to witness nature’s gifts. Parents and grandparents can socialize while barbecuing, enjoying happy hour, playing lawn games or taking part in the engineering project in the sand and water area. Older children can toss around a baseball or football in the park or go on an adventure in the property’s treed valley (approximately 15 acres-future amenity area).
